    Hibiscus rosa-sinensis [single red] is a broadleaf evergreen shrub with green foliage. In fall, spring and summer orange and red flowers emerge. Features glossy texture. Attracts hummingbirds.     Large deep deep red single flowers are produced in abundance practically throughout the year. This is a fairly full and vigorous growing hibiscus that lends itself to containers and tropical garden settings. This Single Red Hibiscus is similar to the species although this one may actually be of hybrid parentage. Either way this is a flower producing machine and can be found in flower throughout the year if provided with ample light and good growing conditions. Easy to grow and sure to pique the interest of hummingbirds and other pollinators.The flowers of the red forms of Tropical Hibiscus are used to shine shoes in places like India giving it the names Shoe Plant and Shoe Black Plant.
