Nursery contributed plant descriptions
Small spikes of light purple night fragrant spidery flowers are produced over an extended from December through January on this easy to grow compact Orchid. Louise Mayumi xBrassocattleya is a cross generic hybrid and is for us reliably flowering at Christmas time. Our plants generally have 4-6 mature plants per pot and are grown in an orchid bark and volcanic rock mix. These little orchids can remain in the same container for quite a few years and are a very low maintenance addition to the lightly shaded garden.
The Louise Mayumi xBrassocattleya Orchid multiplies readily and can be easily shared with family and friends. We generally divide ours even while flowering in winter. They are known to flower in late spring or early summer under good conditions although it does not seem to do so reliably.
