    A big and bold Peacock Ginger as the name Grande implies, it produces a rosette of silver splashed blue-tinged green leaves that are up to 2' long and the plants grow to 2' high and wide. This easy to grow shade loving perennial prefers a moist humus rich well drained soil. Grande Peacock Ginger goes totally dormant in winter and waits until the soil warms in spring before producing clusters of large rosy pink flowers that fade away before the tropical foliage emerges. Grow it in the garden as a summer groundcover, specimen, or as a container plant where not hardy. Peacock Gingers are like Hostas for mild winter regions.
