A new twist on an old favorite of ours, this new selection of the Single Red Confederate Rose, Almost Eden's Baby Pink Perennial Hibiscus, produces 6-8" wide, medium pink flowers often marked with white especially early on in the day. This may be the longest flowering perennial Hibiscus that we know and it starts flowering in late spring/early summer and continues until the first frost. It may flower almost year round under warm and sunny, frost free conditions. Easy, hardy, and reliable.
In the colder portions of their range, zones 7A-8B, these perennial Hibiscus should be sited in a protected area and should be provided with a breathable insulative mulch to help ensure their return the following spring.
Like Terri's Pink Perennial Hibiscus and the Single Red Confederate Rose, Almost Eden's Baby Pink Perennial Hibiscus grows to about 8' high by 4-6' wide in a single season. It freezes to the ground in winter and returns in spring. An easy low maintenance perennial that is sure to steal the show. Begin fertilizing in early spring once the plants show signs of growth and remember that Hibiscus species tend to be heavy feeders and this one is no exception.
