    Merremia dissecta is a broadleaf semi-evergreen perennial vine with green foliage. In summer magenta and white flowers emerge. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and regular water. Does well in average and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant, humidity tolerant and seaside / salt tolerant.

    A day flowering morning glory, the Alamo Vine is a perennial twining vine that produces 2" white flowers with a purplish throat from spring to fall. The flowers open during the day and last until evening above the palmately lobed, dark green, almond scented foliage. Produces a sweet potato-like taproot from which it regrows each year. Native or not? It seems to depend on which reference you use as to whether this is truly a native species or was introduced. Most common in Florida and Texas but is reported from LA, MS, AL, GA, and even PA. This plant will readily reseed and may be considered a pest in Florida, so please plant responsibly.
