Lupinus sericatus is a rare perennial herb endemic to California. It grows in the forest, woodlands, and chaparral areas of Northern California. Cobb mountain lupine develops in an erect manner, reaching 3'h x 3'w. Cobb mountain lupine has gorgeous broad silver foliage, and purple spring time flowers. It is easy to grow, but needs full sun and excellent drainage. Plant with Stickymonkey flower, Common brome, and California everlasting. Also does well in containers with just a bit of gravel in potting soil. Endemic to California It is included in the CNPS Inventory of Rare and Endangered Plants on list 1B.2 (rare, threatened, or endangered in CA and elsewhere). 7th Edition / 8th Edition No Historical Use found. Found in open wooded slopes. Communitites located in Chaparral, Foothill Woodland, Yellow Pine Forest 1,640 to 2,000'.
