Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A riot of tropical color and intoxicating fragrance! This beautiful creature blew us away in our 2016 bulb trials with its HUGE, hot-pink flowers and seemingly endless succession of blooms. Each flower stalk rose 20” tall with nearly a dozen 2” wide glittery salmon-pink blooms with yellow throats, opening one after another for a prolonged bloom time. Deer resistant, super fragrant and an amazing cut flower! Freesias grow during the Fall and Winter, bloom in Spring and go dormant during the hot Summer months. Provide well-draining soil and average water during bloom and little to no water during dormancy. Easy! For those of you below zone 8, lift and store bulbs before frost – or simply plant in a container that can be overwintered indoors.
