Nursery contributed plant descriptions

One of the BEST cold-hardy Salvias, this exceptional variety boasts innumerable, large, vivid red blooms held high above fragrant foliage on tall stalks. Blooming from early Summer thru Fall– it’s an absolute hummingbird magnet! Plus, it’s low maintenance, low water, drought and clay tolerant, deer resistant, attracts bees and is even great for cut flowers! What more could you ask for? Grows to an impressive 3-4’ high and wide with a relaxed habit that mingles nicely with neighbors. For a bushier, more erect form prune back to about 1’ in Spring once new growth has emerged. Provide average water the first year to get it established before transitioning to low water.
