    Salvia (darcyi x microphylla) is a broadleaf semi-evergreen perennial herb with green foliage. In fall and summer red flowers emerge. Attracts bees, beneficial insects, butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun and occasional - low water. Does well in average, gritty and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant.

Blooming from early Summer thru Fall– it’s an absolute hummingbird magnet! Plus, it’s low maintenance, low water, drought and clay tolerant, deer resistant, attracts bees and is even great for cut flowers! What more could you ask for? Grows to an impressive 3-4’ high and wide with a relaxed habit that mingles nicely with neighbors. For a bushier, more erect form prune back to about 1’ in Spring once new growth has emerged. Provide average water the first year to get it established before transitioning to low water.
