Nursery contributed plant descriptions

One of the most treasured varieties in our collection of South African bulbs, we’ve selected out this solid red form of “Harlequin Flower” for your garden thrills! A tough and floriferous mid-Spring blooming bulb, it makes a great cut flower with 2” clear red blooms featuring a black-rimmed sunny yellow eye. Grows to 18” tall with bright green sword-shaped leaves. Expects Summer drought but can handle Summer water, too. It will go dormant in Summer, so cut back leaves after they go brown. It will be back – bigger and better - in late Fall! Good drainage is preferred, but not super important.
