Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Bring DRAMATIC HEIGHT to the garden with this California mallow - the tallest known Sidalcea on record, with flower spikes reaching 6-8’ tall and up to 20 pretty pinky-purple 1” flowers per stalk. Spreads to form dense colonies of ruggedly-tough plants with attractive grey-green, deeply lobed foliage. Ultra-rare in cultivation so we’re not sure how much cold it can take, but it’s endemic to regions in USDA zone 8. An exceptional BEE MAGNET during its Summer-long bloom period! Native to moist areas – it performs best with regular water.
