One of the first hybrid perpetuals to make a comeback into modern gardens. The 5” flowers are a deep plum color shading to near black, semi-double & the fragrance is intense. Blooms spring-fall with deadheading & regular water. To keep the flowers from absorbing too much heat in the sun (& getting burned), it is best to grow this Rose in an east exposure (morning sun, afternoon shade). The long thorn-less canes make it possible to train it as a climber but it can also be grown as a shrub. Like most other hybrid perpetuals it responds well to extra water & fertilizer.
