Nursery contributed plant descriptions

When “the drought to end all droughts” hits us here in CA, we’ll be ready with this extremely rare and endangered Puya, which exists almost entirely on the moisture of coastal fog in its native habitat, the Atacama Desert, the driest place on Earth. Blooming after 10 years (and each year thereafter as it’s perennial), bright lime blooms glow on many sturdy upright branchy spikes held above a 3’ clump of spiny rosettes. To 6’ tall in bloom and 5’ across. Good drainage. Hummers. Protect from frost.
