Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The bluest Plectranthus ever! This RARE species hailing from the Chirinda Forest of Zimbabwe has the deepest gentian-blue flowers in the genus. Fast growing to 3-4’ tall and wide, this multi-branching shrub is a dazzling solution for SHADY gardens.Beginning in autumn and continuing until first frost, stunning 5-6” spikes of one inch “pelican-beaked” two tiered flowers, deep gentian below and lighter blue up top, sprout from dark bracts throughout the shrub. Cold weather brings out an appealing burgundy blush to the crinkled rich green leaves. Hardy to at least 30 degrees F. Prefers morning sun or bright shade and thrives in rich, well-drained soil. Pleasantly aromatic leaves deter deer!
