Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A lush evergreen vine of tropical appearance that’s easy to grow in colder climates. Quickly reaching 15-25’ tall with rich green and glossy divided leaves provide a very attractive background for a profusion of trumpet shaped bright pink flowers with a deep red throat. Very long blooming season from late spring to early fall and, unlike most other selections, ‘Rosea Superba’ has retained the jasmine scent noted in its name. Plant in good rich garden soil, provide regular water for best results and supply it with a bower for it to cover or a sturdy trellis. If needed, prune in the fall after the main flowering season is over, not in the spring since Bower Vine blooms on previous year’s growth. In areas with repeat freezes it should be grown in pot and moved indoors for protection.
