Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The abundant! very fragrant! large! 2" creamy-white flowers borne by this lovely compact (to 6') shrub are flushed with maroon in the center. S/M
Came to us from Phillip Curtis Nursery back in the 80's. This plant has been lovely. In May-June the white flowers have a lavender purple center. Very fragrant.
Its name conjures thoughts of beautiful stars (Belle Etoile). Brushed with maroon at the base of each of the four petals, the white flowers unfurl just when spring blooming shrubs are finishing their display. In close proximity to an entrance or walkway amid Luzula 'Auslese' and Geranium 'Ingwersen's Variety', this graceful shrub is easy to grow, deliciously scented and unmistakably choice.
White fragrant flowers with a maroon blotch spring, drought tolerant once established. Hardy zones 5-8.
Mockoranges are fast-growing, vigorous shrubs with fountain-like shapes. What they are most know, however, is their showy white flowers with orange stamens and their strong fragrance reminiscent of orange blossoms. 'Belle Etoile' produces profuse and exceptionally fragrant white flowers 2¼ inches in diameter, with yellow anthers and a light purple blotch at the base of each petal. Great Plant Picks - Miller Botanical Garden who describes the fragrance as "sensational".

Coming in near the end of the mock orange blooming period this richly scented selection is lower growing and the flowers have a rose-purple center. 6 x 6'.
A must have for the fragrant garden, this deciduous shrub has late spring flowers, white with a maroon blotch near the center and a sweet, spicy fragrance. Delicious! Large and rangy, to 6' tall and wide in full sun or, in the hottest summer climates, light shade with protection from western sun. Provide well-drained soil for best appearance and regular summer water for best blooms. Can be stooled to rejuvenate. Frost hardy in USDA zone 5. Hydrangeaceae
