Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Looking for a vibrant LOW WATER pop of color for your rock gardens, parking strips or meadow plantings? This adorable native North American prairie wildflower requires virtually NO MAINTENANCE and is super drought tolerant (just be sure to give it a bit of water to establish). Bonus: next year’s self-sown seedlings will happily grow without a single added drop! Grows to 12” tall & 10” wide with glossy clusters of orange-hearted, yellow flowers appearing late Spring-Summer. Consider planting in small groupings or with my personal low/no water favorite, Dandelion ‘Red Ribbed’ for an enchanting no-maintenance combo. Will do fine in dry or sandy soil – requires good drainage for best results! All parts poisonous, do not ingest.
