Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The ULTIMATE romantic fragrance! From the most delightful breeder, John Barrington of Tauton, England - who is obsessed with bringing the long-missing, intense fragrance back to “Perpetual Carnations” – “White Rabbit” is one of the most delicious! Tall, strong & sturdy, to 3’ tall & 3’ across, with stout arching stems, these long-lived perennials bloom almost year-round in mild climates (like ours in the Bay Area) with the biggest flush in Spring & Summer. Extra-large (to 4” across), purest white blooms appear in multiples at the end of long, bluish-green stems – totally ideal for cutting! Pinch off all but one bud per stem to create extra big flowers, too! You’ll get plenty for making the most fragrant homegrown boutonnieres, bouquets, or for presenting to your favorite squeeze! How cool will they think you are?! Best grown at the edge of a bed or in a large container (10+ gal). Provide rich, well-drained soil & side dress with compost once or twice a year for maximum bloom. Cut back to 6” tall anytime to refresh.
