Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Endemic to occasional patches of open grasslands and chaparrals west of the Sierras to Northern Baja, I was delighted to find how easy this extremely rare (in the trade), beautiful and graceful native Delphinium is to grow! Elegant, upright, 3’ spikes bear vibrant indigo-blue 1.25” flowers with a fuzzy central “bee” in April and May. Slender, lobed foliage went deciduous for us in late Summer and returned from deep tap-roots with Winter rains. Poor to average well-drained soil.
