Nursery contributed plant descriptions

With a sweet vanilla like fragrance the large single white flowers of French Vanilla Camellia shine brightly atop the foil of rich dark green Sasanqua-like foliage of this vigorous upright grower in early to mid season. The naturally upright growth habit lends it to use as a screen, specimen plant, or as a backdrop. Be sure to plant it near a walk where you put your nose in the wonderfully fragrant Camellia hybrid. French Vanilla Camellia is nearly always in flower in time for a Thanksgiving bouquet. The other Camellias in the bouquet are: White By The Gate, Debutante (pink), and Purple Haze Sasanqua (small purplish-red flowers), along with a sprig of leaves of the Waterfall Japanese Maple with yellow color. French Vanilla Camellia is at the lower right.
