Epimedium 'Songbirds' is a whimsical treat for the shade garden. The evergreen foliage is deep green, lance-shaped and lightly spotted in rusty reds. Spider-like flowers that look like Japanese origami emerge in spring on long, showy sprays. Barrenwort thrive in medium to heavy shade and, when established, are highly drought tolerant. They are deer resistant and are seldom bothered by voles or other critters. They can be used as effective ground covers or shade garden accents.
Dense clump of elongated heat shaped, green foliage. Blooms in spring with a very high number of large yellow spurred flowers with orange cups & bright red outer sepals. Stunning! Plant in partial sun to nearly full shade. 12” tall, Zones 5-9. Semi-evergreen.
