A stunning accent - natural landscape lighting! Refreshing snow-white, strap-like foliage trimmed with a thin margin of forest green. Dense, upright clumping sedge slowly expands. Resembles a hosta. Carex Snow Cap provides colorful filler along streams or ponds and moist, shady locations. Brighten up a shady area or add beautiful foliage contrast to a combination container.
A sensational high impact, low maintenance grass that is easy to grow with stunning creamy-white variegation, and a densely compact form. Its arching white leaves, with narrow dark green margins, are quite broad (.5-.75”) and its size, 8” high by 12” wide, allows it to be placed anywhere you’d like a little dazzle. It will spread, though slowly, and is easily contained if you want. As garden edging it is simply enchanting and a real workhorse, keeping its bold allure going all year in mild climates (deciduous in cold Winter areas). It’s also a wonderful plant for containers. This small scale deer resistant stunner prefers part shade and average to moist watering but it can take a sunny site if it receives regular water and can even adapt to dry shade once established. Rich well-draining soil is best, but no need to fertilize heavily, just a top dressing of compost in early Spring is sufficient. Gently remove any brown or dead leaves from the center, especially in Winter, to keep it fluffy and happy.
