Majestic Blue is an open pollinated variety of the Colorado Blue Spruce with superior blue foliage and a dense branching habit. It is also much faster to establish than other Blue Spruce varieties and it maintains its attractive blue color even when planted in frequent high-wind areas. These trees are extremely cold hardy, thriving in areas with winter temperatures as low as -40 degrees, but are also heat and drought tolerant once established. Colorado Blue Spruce need full sun for optimal color and when planted in shade will usually become sparse.

Like many other blue colored conifers, 'Majestic Blue' trees take a few years to fully transition from green to blue needles. Our one gallon trees (which are 3 years old) will usually still be semi-green with blue developing on the new growth while our two gallon plants (4 years old) will be mostly blue. 4 inch plants are usually still light green.
