Clusters of rich purple flowers are produced on sturdy stems atop the medium green foliage from spring through summer and into fall. Cloud Eight is a semi-dwarf selection of Purole-Top Vervain with a compact and free flowering habit. The dainty nectar rich flowers are visited by bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Use Cloud Eight Verbena in the garden, landscape, or in container gardens.
Verbena bonariensis 'Cloud 8' is a semi-dwarf selection of this summer stalwart with stiff upright clumps of branching stems to 2-3 feet high topped with vivid lilac purple flowers from midsummer until a hard frost. Very heat tolerant, suitable for xeriscaping. and hardy to about -9 C, let it self-seed to ensure next year's display. This is a great "see through" plant. Be daring and try it near the front of the bed. You'll be able to see past the airy stems to the other plants beyond while giving the illusion of depth.
