Agapanthus Twister PP25519 plant details

Okay, wow. This Agapanthus is a showstopper. Huge white flowers fade to blue at the base, held in large clusters atop tall stems in summer. Reads as a predominantly white flower with sort of an ombre effect moving in toward the central stem. Really nice to elevate in containers where you can get an even closer look, and get more reliable blooms. Fantastic as a cut flower. As one of the deciduous varieties, this has the advantage of being a bit hardier. As the genus comes from southern Africa, it likes heat.

Agapanthus Twister PP25519 is a broadleaf deciduous perennial bulb / corm / tuber with green foliage. In summer blue and white flowers emerge. Features glossy and grassy texture. Attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - dappled shade and regular - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Does well in alkaline, average, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something seaside / salt tolerant and verticillium wilt resistant.

Nursery contributed plant descriptions

We first saw this plant a couple of years ago. The 24” stems are topped with white flowers that are blue in the center. This is a lovely agapanthus.
Look out Cleopatra – the knockout flowers on this semi-deciduous, 2’ clumping, sun basking perennial are white with violet blue bases. Bi-colored Lily of the Nile…must have! Flowers are in 3’ stems above the foliage and blooms June to October. The genus doesn’t seem to be too fussy about soil, requires less moisture in heavier soils, more in sandy. Stunning cut flowers.
Agapanthus 'Twister' is a striking bicoloured lily-of-the-Nile with flowers that are rich blue in the throat grading to white on the petal edges. The flowers are held in a large umbel up to eight inches across on compact plants with lots of flower power. Great in containers (where many gardeners find Agapanthus easier to bloom) or in the ground in a nice hot spot.
