Symphyotrichum 'Vasterival' is a broadleaf deciduous perennial with green foliage. In fall pink flowers emerge. Formerly Aster 'Vasterival'. Myriads of pink fading to lavender daisies in multiple sprays adorn this plant in September into October. It can get quite tall (4-5') unless pinched back, which we have done in our garden and it remained a blousy 2-3'. It does run a bit, so use where you want a massing of this pink beauty. Rumor has it that this fall bloomer was named for a certain Princess Sturdza's garden at Le Vasterival in France. Our guess is it is a hybrid of A. lateriflorus, though not much information is available.
