Phormium have cornered the market on structure and drama which is likely why they’re so popular. 'Evening Glow' is a dramatic cultivar with some of the brightest glowing reddish pink leaves edged in burgundy purple. New Zealand Flax usually sail through our coastal BC winters but benefit from a mulch of leaves at their base and having their foliage tied up to help it resist heavy snowfalls. In colder climates, grow in pots and bring indoors to a frost-free environment.

A deliciously colored New Zealand Flax: warm rose pink centered blades bordered with darker plum bronze margins. 'Evening Glow' is the perfect Phormium for containers, with its compact 3-4’ height. Clumps increase slowly with age. Grow in sun and well drained soil. Hardy to 15-20 °F, but easy peasy to winter over.
