    Lamium maculatum 'Chequers' is a broadleaf evergreen perennial groundcover with green, variegated and white foliage. In spring and winter purple flowers emerge. Attracts bees making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with bright shade - shade and regular water. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in average and well-drained soil.

    One early January morning, I walked out to the greenhouses and passed a patch of low evergreen foliage with lovely wine red tones brought on by the cold....it was this, a good old fashioned, long lived, evergreen form of Lamium. 'Chequers' is one of those plants that has always been there, and although not rare or sexy, it certainly is a stalwart, and seldom offered any longer. Purple flowers in spring and summer, with oval dark green leaves centrally marked with silver on low4-6" spreading plants. Deer and rabbit resistant, plus its super hardy!
