Strawberry Sunday panicle hydrangea is similar to Vanilla Strawberry, but it's a couple feet shorter and the flowers age lighter pink. Due to the shorter size, it's great for containers, patios, and smaller gardens, as well as the same applications as its cohort. Flowers start out white and in areas with cool late summer evenings, they age/antique a lovely pure pink, then darken to rose. The pictures show the flower color progression. Strawberry Sundae is the smallest of the panicle hydrangeas we grow and all are grown as multiple-stemmed shrubs. This Hydrangea paniculata grows and flowers great in zone 8a, and flowers are beautiful in our zone, but they remain white. Flowers antique to pink shades better further north. Strawberry Sundae panicle hydrangea is one of two First Editions® hydrangeas that we grow.
