    Gardenia jasminoides Sweet Tea™ PP27258 is a broadleaf evergreen shrub with green foliage. In summer white flowers emerge. Features glossy texture. Grows well with mostly sun - dappled shade and even moisture - regular water. Does well in acidic, average, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant and humidity tolerant.

    Sweet Tea Gardenia has large, tennis ball-sized, double flowers. It's a strong rebloomer and a zone cold hardier than most. Gardenias are beloved members of every southern garden, but they do sometimes cause heartbreak due to lack of winter hardiness. We admonish to select a cold hardy variety (there aren't many) and we can recommend Sweet Tea with confidence into zone 7. Of course, the fragrance on this cape jasmine is heavenly. To compare with Double Mint, Sweet Tea one has larger flowers borne on a slightly larger shrub. Plus, it's more cold hardy. Flowers aren't as fully double as Double Mint. Sweet Tea Gardenia is one of two First Editions® Gardenias that we grow.
