Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Commonly called Downy-leaf Manzanita, this California and Oregon chaparral native is a standout year-round. This silvery-blue rounded 4-6' shrub has cinnamon-brown branches which are wooly before aging to smooth. The leaves are covered with a pretty white-down when young and mature to silver; they develop rosy-pink tips in winter. Small pink urn-shaped flowers in spring become round, brown seeds in fall. This shrub requires excellent drainage. S-PSh/D/GDr
