Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Historic garden plant with succulent foliage. Features loose burgundy to brown rosettes with green centers. Leaves will become tinged in shades of gold in bright sunlight. The tips are covered in fine cilia, giving it a fuzzy look. Hens & Chicks grow best in well-drained, gravelly soil that is not wet in winter. Drought tolerant. Requires little water once established. Great in containers and rock gardens.
Chick Charms Cosmic Candy produces garnet red leaves edged with silver hairs around green, lightly cob webbed centres. The dangerously collectible Chick Charms series offers the boldest coloured and best-growing hen and chicks available. Sempervivum are super hardy requiring only full sun and excellent, sharp drainage, especially in coastal BC. Grow them as an edger for pathways or borders or in pots.
Sparkling 'Cosmic Candy' is spun with silver hairs that catch the light, the narrow succulent leaves turning from green and red to varnished purple as cold weather sets in. A lovely choice for low maintenance gardens and dry areas.
