Elaeagnus x ebbingei is a broadleaf evergreen shrub with blue and green foliage. In fall cream flowers emerge followed by orange and red fruit. Features glossy texture. Attracts bees and birds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and regular - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in summer. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in average, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something seaside / salt tolerant and wind tolerant.

A fast growing evergreen shrub with a dense rounded, spreading habit to 10' x 10' wide. Large, gray-green, leathery leaves have silvery undersides. Heavily scented flowers bloom in the fall, followed by edible, orange-red berries in the spring. This is a very adaptable shrub that does well, once established, in all but very soggy soils, sun or shade. Excellent for hedging or background planting.
