Peony Rubra Plena is more commonly know as the Memorial Day peony because its blooming window typically coincides with that holiday. Popular for generations, this peony was widely planted on the graves of Civil War veterans and is often chosen for historic plantings. This plant is a bit shorter than many peonies, lending it to use closer to the front of the border. Why Grow Peonies?
