After growing this variety, it's hard to image not including it in future dahlia beds. Why? It's an oversized beauty with gracefully twisting and curling petals. The plant and purple stems are so strong that there's no flopping. (You still neeed to stake with these huge blooms to keep the whole plant upright.) The blooms are so large a single one floated in a bowl replaces an ordinary centerpiece. And, the clincher has to be the colors - pinks, peaches, coppers, gingers and plums - all in smokey tones and artfully swirled together. Belle of Barmera mixes with effortlessly with other shades and adds depths that brights alone can't achieve. Grow it. You'll see what we mean. Why Grow Dinnerplate Dahlias?
