With minimum light requirments, this 8-18' bamboo with its ornamental swollen ?green onion? internodes is one of the best for indoor-container but also makes a fine privacy hedge. S-PSh/M/contain runners PP25835
The ‘Buddha Belly’ of the Pseudosasa. to 5’
From a distance, very similar to regular Arrow Bamboo (Pseudosasa japonica) with similar traits. Medium size and large canes grow with regularly swollen sections above each node like an onion bulb, similar to "Buddha's Belly Bamboo" in appearance but is far more cold hardy. Swollen nodes are more pronounced when grown in containers. The cut canes are extraordinary because of their shape. Fantastic when paired with "Chinese Walking Stick Bamboo" Chimonobambusa tumidissinoda, which has very large nodes.
