Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This is a Phlox species that grows in Eastern Oregon throughout the deserts. It is very drought tolerant and will survive summers without being watered after they are established in the second year. When plants are watered more regularly in the summer, Oregon Blue will create a dense carpet and forms a fantastic ground cover of medium sized leaves. By late summer, the tips of each stem produce bunches of light colored flowers.

Propagation
Normally divided by digging or root division in the early spring just after the leaves start forming. Young stems can also be used for cuttings.
