Nursery contributed plant descriptions

An Oregon/Washington native, confined to 4 adjacent coastal counties. The fact that this rare species was only discovered in 1945 (!) and not described until 1979, makes it quite intriguing. It's found in very few places, usually nestled between rocks in the coastal range, where there is plenty of moisture in spring but dryer/dry in summer. Classic shooting star flowers with rather bright magenta petals and a white base. The leaves are often toothed.
