Podophyllum 'Kaleidoscope' is a spectacular hybrid of several Asian mayapples boasting large, octagonal, umbrella-shaped leaves that emerge with bold patterns of silver and blackish bronze fading with age into a mottled shield of greens and chocolate-brown. The intensity of the foliage pattern depends on light, temperature, and age with bolder patterns on older plants in cool conditions. Large clusters of 7-20 garnet-red flowers are found under the leaves in spring. In the past we have observed it to grow more slowly than 'Spotty Dotty'.

Can you say FABULOUS FOLIAGE? Queen of the woodland with her large octagonal leaves (up to 18”) marked with a kaleidoscope pattern of silver and burgundy-black perch on upright stems like lily pads. Red drooping flowers in clusters hang below the foliage in summer on sexually mature plants.
