Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Growing on rocks & cliffs on Catalina Island, Dudleya hassei makes an attractive small scale groundcover in gardens. The narrow leaves create a 6” tall rosette that has some resemblance to a sea anemone & eventually spreads to 1-2’ wide. The grey chalky leaves get attractive pink tips when grown with low water & in full sun. D. hassei flowers in the Spring with 1’ tall stems & clusters of white flowers with yellow centers, popular with hummingbirds. Makes a great container plant!
