Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Crocus chrysanthus 'Romance' is a beautiful cultivar with flowers in two colours of yellow: light, creamy yellow and rich, deep buttery yellow. The flowers are smaller than the large Dutch hybrids and bloom earlier. Species, or snow crocus, are some of the first bulbs to emerge in the late winter, two weeks before other forms. They will grow anywhere grass does, but don't mow them until the foliage dies back.
Most warm-tone crocuses are either cream or gold; Romance is a buttery yellow. Happily growing into vigorous clumps, this heart-warming crocus pops out of the soil early, often while snow is still present.
