Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Golden oak of Cyprus- Is a very beautiful evergreen oak with oval deep green leaves. The undersides of the leaves are a pretty golden color. Will make a small shrubby tree in many years. Sounds like it should be hardy to 0??F. Our plant withstood 5-8??F. Rarely available and truly beautiful.
An evergreen oak, endemic to the mediterranean island of Cyprus, Quercus alnifolia has glossy, dark green leaves and striking, golden-yellow, fuzzy leaf undersides (which give it its common name of Golden Oak). A very slow-growing and ultimately small and shrubby tree, this oak is likely to max out at 10 ft tall in Pacific Northwest conditions. This is a rare, hard-to-find oak! Minimum temperature: 15 °F
