Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Gladiolus 'Robinetta' is a 1958 hybrid notable for its blousy, magenta flowers streaked with white. Hardy gladiola are an old garden favourite offering contemporary gardens ease of care and interest for collectors of increasingly scarce heirloom varieties. Taking little space to grow, they combine well with other plants and make excellent cut flowers. Bulbs require good drainage. Leave the foliage to nourish the bulb after cutting back the flower stalk and mulch in winter. Possibly hardy to zone 6b.
Deep, currant-red angular flowers have soft brush strokes of white in the center of each petal. Graceful, lovely hybrid; summer bloom. Minimum temperature: 0 °F
