Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This ground-hugging succulent from the High Drakensberg of South Africa might be described as “cute” by some in the gardening community. However, I prefer to think of it as “nifty.” Little rosettes of green leaves recall Sedum, but the white flowers are unusually tight and compact on very short stalks. For an alpine it's quite easy to grow, and vigorous - even I haven't managed to kill it yet. Just keep it on the dry side in winter and give it a drink in summer. If it's really dry in winter it ought to survive below 0 °F.
