Leaves like most American dogwoods though with a slight blue cast. Blooms...like no other!! The typical four white bracts are fused at the ends creating the look of Chinese lanterns hanging throughout the tree. Highly unusual and truly spectacular. The tree originates from the mountain forests of eastern Mexico. Tolerates warm summers as long as it has protection from hot afternoon sun. Medium sized round tree. Filtered to full sun in evenly moist, well-drained soil.
