Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Producing its lemon-yellow cup-shaped ?lantern? flowers at a young age this Phil Savage hybrid of M. acuminata subcordata x M. soulangiana ?Alexandrina? becomes a small upright, single stemmed tree. S/M
This Phil Savage hybrid has light lemon yellow flowers. The very narrow tree would make an excellent street tree.
With parent plants selected for their late bloom time and precocious flowering, 'Yellow Lantern' follows suit, producing a mass of large, cup shaped blooms glowing pure lemon-yellow. Tree habit is upright with a single trunk. Excellent for those who love yellow.
