Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A synonym of Aloe spectabilis, according to Klopper, R.R. & Smith, G.F. (2010). Reinstatement of Aloe spectabilis. Bothalia 40: 91-93. Fantastic, arborescent species (grows into a tree) with thick, blue leaves and orange or grey colored thorns on the ventral (bottom) side of each leaf. Extremely tolerant of drought and arid conditions. Huge candelabra shaped canopy of red and yellow flowers when mature. A shocking spectacle when this one blooms.
