Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Adenia venenata, from the same family as the passionfruit vine, is a caudex plant from East Africa and Yemen with lobed leaves and long, woody vines atop the thickened trunk. The vines can be pruned to maintain a nice shape. The small, cream colored, dioecious flowers attract butterflies. Protect from frost. Young plants should be protected from full, summer sun but older specimens can take more sun. This species is not related to 'Adenium', the popular "Desert Rose."
