This lovely low growing maiden hair fern will have over lapping pinules (leaflets). Not offered very often.
Zn 5. Lacy, green fronds on black stems.
Purple-black stripes hold fronds that are forked into two major branches that curl with six to eight pinnea per branch. Plant in afternoon to full shade & well drained, moist soil. Zones 5 to 8. Height: 12” to 15”. Deciduous.
Tiered and overlapping, lacy light green fronds unfurl in early spring and last until fall. The next spring, supremely delicate fiddleheads unfurl again. 10" tall rhizomatous plant. Ca. 8 inches tall. Minimum temperature: -40° F
