Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A wonderfully unexpected hybrid maple that pools the graceful beauty of the paperbark maple (A. griseum) with the hearty growth of the sycamore maple (A. pseudoplatanus). The outcome is a robust 15-20' small tree featuring three-lobed green leaves backed with a striking purple undersides, fiery crimson autumn leaves put on a show not to be missed. S-PSh/M
An unlikely hybrid of Acer griseum and Acer pseudoplatanus, 'Purple Haze' has the leaves of A. griseum but larger with veining more impressed. They turn brilliant, saturated, glowing orange in fall! The A. pseudoplatanus contributes a purple underside to the leaf and noticeable clusters of pink samaras make for yet another significant attraction. Deciduous, vase-shaped, 15'T x 7'W in 10 years.
