Peritoma arborea is a broadleaf evergreen shrub with green foliage. In summer yellow flowers emerge followed by green fruit. Features glaucous texture. Attracts butterflies making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Does well in rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something seaside / salt tolerant and verticillium wilt resistant.

Isomeris arborea is a very tough plant with a strange but nicely ornamental countenance. The three-lobed leaves are blue-tinted, & the showy yellow flowers give way to large, specious seed pods that rattle when dry. Hummingbirds, butterflies & bees appreciate the flowers as a nectar source, & the flowers appear year round, although the plants do go deciduous under stress of extreme drought. A member of the Caper family, & there are rumors that the flower buds can be pickled & eaten in a similar way! Grows 3-6’ high & wide, is deer resistant, & is tolerant of heavy, clay soil if not overwatered! Woohoo!
